This is a stand-alone Skype DECT phone that allows users to access both the PSTN and Skype network. The PC-Less Skype DECT is implemented with embedded Skype software, which incorporates Skype features such as Voicemail, call forwarding and Skype-In/Skype-Out services

There is no need to have the Skype application running on a PC (No PC is required to make Skype calls). Once the base station is connected to the Internet, the handset will become an embedded Skype device, and the user can make Skype-to-Skype calls, or Skype In/Out calls with fixed-line numbers (Skype chargeable service).

The Skype user contact list is shown on a 1.5” colour handset screen. The users can easily see their contacts’ status and profiles, as well as their Skype credit balances for SkypeOut. New users can be added on the handset.

There are separate call lists for both the PSTN and Skype Calls, and the users can easily identity the call lists as either from PSTN or Skype. So long as there is a broadband connection to the phone you can make Skype to Skype/landline calls without the need to have phone connected direct to your landline (this means you would not be able to make landline to landline calls). The phone has speakerphone, keypad backlight and polyphonic ring tones as standard features. There is also a headset option.
