Quick Setup Guide For VoIP / PSTN Single Line Switching

1. Connect up the AX522 unit as detailed in diagram 1. In the UK, connection from the AX522 L2 Socket to the PSTN line should be done with a standard RJ-11 to BT Modem Cable. It may also be required in the UK to use a BT to RJ-11 Adaptor to connect the phone to the AX522 Phone Socket.

2. Switch on the unit and note the colours of the LEDS on the AX522, if all is working, then both L1 and L2 Should be GREEN. If this is not the case, then please refer to the above Light Signal Table for diagnostics.

3. This setup uses the VoIP Line to dial outward calls and sets the receiving calls through the PSTN Line. The AX522 will receive calls through both the PSTN and VoIP Lines and identify which incoming line is being used through the LED colours detailed above.

Polarity Information for UK & New Zealand Users
The AX522 complies with the RJ-11 socket standard and expects all signalling and ringing signals to be transmitted on the middle two wires. I contract, the BT sockets used in the UK perform the signalling on the outside two wires and have a ring capacitor circuit on the third wire. For this reason, connection to and from the BT phone and BT Wall Socket / Broadband Filter will require the following adaptors:-
-From AX522 to BT Socket / Broadband Filter - A standard RJ-11 to BT Plug Modem Lead is required.
-From BT Phone Plug to Phone Socket on AX522 - A BT Socket to RJ-11 Adaptor may be required.
