The AX522 is the latest design upgrade to Artech's popular AX520 two line intelligent switch, offering improved compatibility and stability across all VoIP platforms as well as many enhanced features. The AX522 allows automatic and intelligent switching between PSTN and VoIP lines while utilising one phone. This really is a cool piece of kit, simply connect your VoIP line in to the L1 Jack, your PSTN Line into the L2 Jack and you phone into the phone socket and hey presto. All outgoing calls are made through your cheap rate VoIP line (L1) and all incoming calls are routed through your standard PSTN line (L2). If an incoming call is made to the VoIP line, the the AX522, automatically switches to the incoming line. The unit also features power failure protection, so that in the event of a power failure, the unit would automatically switch all lines to the PSTN. Outgoing calls can also be forced through L2 by dialling #0. The AX522 unit offers a very affordable solution to intelligent switching between two line with only one phone.
Note: The AX522 unit utilises RJ-11 connectors which use a different wiring configuration to standard BT Plugs. For this reason, your phone may need a BT to RJ-11 Cross Over Adaptor to connect to the phone jack on the unit. For connection to the BT Wall Socket, a standard RJ-11 to BT Modem Cable can be used.
Ordered Friday, late afternoon Delivered Saturday, 10.45. ?Service or what? I plugged it in & it workd first time. No polarity adhjustments necessary. RJ11 to RJ11 cables (supplied) did the job together with a left over modem cable to connect the PSTN to the switch. Well Done !!!
